The process
This photoshoot is a heartfelt documentary experience, free from pretense or staging. I’m coming to your home more as a guest, simply stepping into your world as you live out your everyday moments.
How to prepare
To help us achieve the best possible outcome, I'll need your collaboration along the way. We'll begin by selecting the outfits together:
Clothes recommendations.
Since we'll be shooting at home in a documentary style, it’s best to keep clothing simple and comfortable - no need for anything fancy. Please avoid prints, logos, or graphics; plain, understated clothing works best. Subdued, natural colors are ideal to keep the focus on you.
For accessories, let’s keep it minimal by removing watches, bracelets, large earrings, big rings, and necklaces. This way, there are no distractions from what truly matters in these images: you and your authentic emotions.
Please send me photos of the clothing options you're considering for everyone. I can help you choose so that all the outfits work well together. There's no need to try everything on—just lay the outfits out on the bed or floor for a quick snapshot.
Сhosing the best time for a shoot.
It’s not you adjusting to me; I’ll adapt to you and your schedule to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
Simply consider which time of day is most active for you, when you’re all engaged in activities together. This could be anything - having breakfast or lunch, playing games, drawing - whatever naturally fills your time. And with kids, there’s always something going on!
I know how hard it can be to plan anything in advance with little ones - one day they’re up at 6, the next at 9, and the whole routine shifts. That’s exactly why there's no need to set an exact time too far ahead. Instead, we just decide on either the first or second half of the day. Then, depending on when your child wakes up/falls asleep, we’ll finalize the exact time the day before or early on the morning of the shoot. This way, everything flows with your child’s schedule.
People.
I would also ask you to send me the names and ages of each participant, along with their photos. A group photo or individual shots - whichever you prefer - will work perfectly. This helps me get to know you all better and prepare in the best possible way.
Important to know
Depending on the lighting conditions, I work with both natural and artificial light. Please note that if an on-camera flash is needed, there will be regular bursts of fairly bright light during the shoot. Let me know in advance if, for any reason, you or anyone else might have difficulty tolerating these flashes.
